Installing SharePoint Portal Server over Project Server

Hi all,
Currently I have a production server with Windows Server
2003 + Windows SharePoint Services + Project Server 2003.
I would like to install SharePoint Portal Server on this
machine.
I know it is possible to install Portal server 2003 on a
server with SharePoint services, but I'm afraid this
installation will break Project Server (during Portal
Server installation any virtual server will be un-
extended).

Any of you has experience with this issue? Any advice?
