installing sp2

after being prompted to install SP2 my computer refused to re-start. I
contacted microsoft but were unable to help but advised i should contact the
manufacturer of my computer. This i did. my master cd's didnt work had to
order new ones took a week then was advised to ring manufacturer to reinstall
them after installation they advised me NOT to install SP2 as there's a lot
of trouble with it nd i could get the same trouble. if true why keep
prompting to install such a sensitive download?

Also you could do a search of the groups for your specific problem from the
