Installing Upgrade

I wish to install and upgrade for Office. I have been using Office for ever.
My original install was from 3-1/2 disks. When I attempt to install an
upgrade on my New Laptop I cannot show that I have original media, since my
new laptop has no 3-1/2 inch floppy drive.

Any suggestions? I hate to have to pay for a non-upgrade version of Office,
if I don't have to.

If you are going to Office 2007 you don't have a qualifying program if your
old Office is on 3 1/2 inch floppies as the latest version on floppy IIRC
was part of Office 95. If you are upgrading to Office 2003 Office 97 is the
earliest qualifier.

If the version you have on floppy is in fact a valid upgrade qualifier for
the office version you are installing, you may want to try to copy each
floppy disk into a folder on a USB drive and see if the installation package
can locate it that way. If that doesn't work copy into only one folder and
see if that works. Do the copy on a computer that has a floppy drive and
can use USB devices.
