installing xp upgrade

I have successfully installed office xp, (it says it was
successful), BUt when I click on word, or excel, etc. it
always says key code is missing and I have to type it in
again, and then it says restart the computer, and then it
will NOT work. This is over and over. I have uninstalled
and installed twice. I am frustrated. HELP
