Instructions as to How Exactly to (and Best) Use and Switch Langua

D

Da Daniel

I have been endlessly trying to find some instructions as to how exactly, and
best, use the language packs as well as switch beteen the different language.

My request is for both Office 2007 as well as Office 2003.

Any suggestions, links, advice, etc. would be tremendously appreciated.

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

The availability for purchase of 36 Single language packs (English langauge pack is not sold separately) is new for Office 2007 as
is the availability to retail customers of the MS Office 2007 Multi-Langauge Pack for use with their Office 2007 product. The Pack
includes both the 37 user interface menus and help files and the Office 2007 Proofing Tools Kit.

For deploying Prroing tools or the multilanguage features in Office 2007
http://office.microsoft.com/ork (Office Desktop applications Techcenter with link to the Office 2007 Resource Kit)

For Office 2003 there is a retail MS Office Proofing Tools Kit product with 37 language proofing tools but basically no User
Interface changes and a volume license only MS Office 2003 MultiLingual User Interface Edition that includes Office, and a CD set
for the 'MUI Pack' the User Interface components and all of the proofing tools.

To deploy/tailor the Office 2003 MUI Pack under a volume license you can use the information on Multilanguage deployments in the
Office 2003 Resource Kit at http://office.microsoft.com/ork2003

Dear Mr. Buckland,

Thank you very much for your comprehensive reply. However, it does not
address the questions raised.

I know how to procure it and I know how to deploy it. What I do not know is
how to (best) use it. The Help is not particular helpful for this lay person
and I cannot find anything online.

Hi Daniel,

I'm not sure I'm following you in that case. There are a number of different tools and also different ways to use them.

Are you asking about change the User Interface language, typing in a particular language, having Word automatically switch languages
for proofing from text (or making sure it doesn't <G>) and also the same with the input keyboards, or ??? There are also
differences in languages that may need an Input Method Editor (IME) whether to construct characters via a visual keyboard or an
input pad, etc.

You may want to also post in the Word International Features discussion group on this using the link below.
