Hi all,

I've a .dot file that is created with Word 95. The file is around 1MB.
I try to open this file with Word 2003, I get an insufficient memory error.
I spot that Word 2003 is trying to convert marco, after sometime, it prompt
the insufficient memory error

Word 2003 uses VBA whereas Word 95 used Word Basic - a completely different
language.

While some templates will "convert" OK, your's obviously has some code that
is creating a problem. Looks like you may need to recreate the template
from scratch in Word 2003.

Thanks. Now I understand.
But is that a way I can open the code in dot in a text format ? or other
format?
Because the dot is created by other people.

Try holding down the shift key when you open the template. You might then
be able to use Alt+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor and see the code.

Thanks for all those suggestion

For the Shift button, I found it no different from open the dot normally.
Still get the insufficient memory error

For http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm, seem Word 2007 is better
than Word 2003, at least I found there are far more icon I can chose from.
^.^ I cant test it coz I'm using Word 2003

I found the way to open that Word 95 template: Use Word95 to open it ... ...
But the way it display marco ... ... It display one marco at a time in the
document with no code coloring. So everytime I need to click couple of
buttons on the meun bar to display one marco, very time consuming

Actually not so.Word 2007 limits you to the predefined icons, whereas Word
2003 will use any icon that you can put into the Windows clipboard, so has
infinite choice. The only thing better about Word 2007's vba is that the
help file is more helpful.
