interactive buttons

I use Office XP on Windows XP. Recently ungraded to FP
2003. At first I thought the interactive buttons were
great, but now they are a real pain. I only have 4 pages
so far, and am stopping until I get some help. I use FP
because I don't know html, java, VB, or anything - just
all-around expert with most MS.

Is there any way to set a default for at least some of
the variables for an interactive button? Better yet, I
would like to be able to copy one. Because 3 different
images are created, it looks like copying to another page
is impossible. And in the set-up box, the text it wants
to use is not what I am using anywhere else, and nothing
else is set like any already existing buttons. I am not
using shared borders, but the buttons I want will be in
various places on a page, anyway. They will go to other
pages, not "back" etc.

Do I have to re-create a button from scratch (and re-name
all 3) even though I have exactly what I want already on
another page? And if so, is there a way to set some
defaults so I don't have to change every single option
every time.

I think this KB article (written by Stefan Rusynko, a FP MVP) may help: HOW
TO: Create and Modify Custom Interactive Buttons in FrontPage 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;555010 at least for
your second question; at the end of the article it says: To reuse the same
Interactive Button in multiple pages, create it once and save the page
(along with the embedded image files generated by FrontPage). Next, select
the Interactive Button and use Edit Copy, then Edit Paste into your other
pages at the desired insertion point.

Kathleen, thank you. I had tried copying with Ctrl+C etc.
but I was pretty upset (and you know the machines can
tell). Reading that it is possible, made me slow down.
And it works.

Since I still have quite a lot of buttons to make, using
some defaults would also be nice, but this is a big help.
