Interactive Buttons

Using FrontPage 2003

Having issues with the interactive buttons. Please visit the website listed
above. Menu buttons work okay until you go to the Products Page. Then I
have more menus along the left side (not all are done). When you mouse over
a button on the left, the top menu style changes to match that on the left.

Thanks in advance.

That is because your image id and mouseover image files for Product are the same as the breast collar

Looks like it is an issue with the path to the graphic file for your
buttons.

On your home page the path for your "Home" button is:

http://www.tackdiscount.com/mybuttons/HomeOver.gif

While the path on your products page is:

http://www.tackdiscount.com/products/mybuttons/HomeOver.gif

Either change the path to match where your graphic is located for the
reference on the products page or make a subdirectory and locate another
copy of the graphic in it so the path on the products page refers to a
location where a copy of the file actually exists.

I always thought that it makes better sense to keep all my buttons in one
location.
Not sure why the path makes a difference... as long as the graphics is at
the location that the path displays.
Is this not true?

Thanks for your input. I will check into this.

Makes sense, but not sure I understand how to change the ID.
I made each button separately and gave each of the 3-states a different
name?

Stefan,
I see in the code where the id's are in conflict. I began modifying.
For some reason, id10 and id1 now are in conflict. What is the indexing
sequence that comes after 9 (if not 10 is it "a").

Also, I made these buttons using FP2003 and want to know why FP assigns the
buttons as conflicts? Shouldn't it know? I thought this is one of the
reasons as to why you should give your buttons a unique name.

Thanks

I figured it out. Just don't know why FP got them confused.
The id number must start over when you go to a different page. If so, that
is not good. All ids should be kept in a separate table that FP can manage.

Part of the problem is that IB don't work in Include Pages or Shared Borders, so FP doesn't see the
other set on the page.

okay, seems strange that it would not... maybe that can get fixed in the
next version.
At any rate, I will manage them manually.

Thanks

It does make sense to have them in a single location, I was merely pointing
out that if you right click and select prpoerties for your graphics on the
products page the URL is different than on your home page, hence the graphic
will most likey not be displayed correctly unless you either correct the URL
or place a copy of the graphic in a subdirectory as specified by the URL on
the products page.

Are you saying that one solution is to copy all 13-buttons and place a copy
in each (13) folder?
I hope that is not the easiest solution.

J

Okay, I got that fixed.
Thanks for your help. Even though I looked and read it 3-times. I wasn't
catching the problem until I tried one more time. I fixed the paths.
