Your problem is technically with Outlook, not Word, and you should have
posted your question in one of the Outlook groups. But... I found the
following post from a Microsoft person who was replying to a similar
question (NO guarantees as to whether this guy knew what he was talking
about, because there was no feedback from the OP):

Hi,

To resolve this problem, register the Ole32.dll file. To do this, follow
these steps:

Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears.
In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK:
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll

You receive the following message in the RegSvr32 dialog box:

DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\System32\ole32.dll succeeded.
In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.

Pls revert if it helps.

Regards,
Subbu

I can not use Word as my email editor for some reason.
This is on my work laptop and it was working perfectly
yesterday when I left the office and now it is toast. I
did have to remove and reinstall a program, but it was
100% unrelated to Outlook or Word. So I am at a loss why
this is occuring. The message I get is a little yellow
triangle with an exclamation point with the words
Microsoft Word in the header and "Interface not
Registered" in the body. This sounds like a *.dll has
not been registered correctly in the registry? Any ideas
as to which one it might be or an I totally off base
there...

All suggestions welcome and greatly appreciated...Thanks
in advance

Subbu,

Thanks for your suggestion of the Regsvr32.exe
%Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll command. It worked and got my OUtlook
mail up and runnning again. I thought I was going to have to do a
repair re-install of Windows. You saved me a lot of time and energy.
I really appreciate it.
