Intermittent "enter network password prompt" in OL 2003 SP1

On occasion (1 or 2 times a day) outlook stops with a "enter network
password" dialog box. No further checking of my mail occurs until I
acknowledge this box.

A couple of items that may help are:

1. this does not occur everytime I open outlook

2. I have only one pop3 email account listed.
