internal error 2324

I receive a message "internal error 2324" when trying to install Office 2000
onto W2K Professional. I've tested the CD and tried copying the files and
installing from hard disk - no luck. Anyone have any suggestions??

It may be a MS Installer rather than Office error in
that it's having trouble opening a particular file.
Did the error message or the install log file
(Start=>Run type %temp% for the location of the log)
name the file?

Did you copy the entire CD to your hard drive to install
from that location?

Did you turn off all other software/utilities/antivirus
when running Setup?

Are you running the Setup.exe file directly from the CD?
If not, you may be hitting a different setup.exe program
on your computer.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your reply. The error message does not state a file name, only
that it can't install due to an internal error.

Yes, I copied all the files to my hard disk and tried running it from there,
still same error message.

Yes, I have turned off all other software/utilities/antivirus

Yes, I am running the setup directly by browsing the cd.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
