internal error 2709

I was trying to reinstall Office 2000 onto my XP computer. Error window
reported "Internal error 2709" and the PC wouldn't install Office. I had just
removed Office after having many problems installing contacts into my Outlook
program.
I don't have a clue how to get past this right now. I've restarted my PC and
tried again with same results. Please, somebody help.
