I had the error "Internal MAPI Error: An invalid parameter was passed
to a
MAPI function. Contact your administrator."
When I opened an .oft file in Outlook. It worked on one machine but
not the other. Same installation from same CD. It wasn't until I got
frustrated that I walked myself step by step on each computer on what
I was doing different. The .oft files are compressed in a zip file
and sent to me for review.
What I found was that on the one computer, I was running Winzip, and
on the other computer I was using XP's default unzip utility. So, I
installed Winzip onto the second computer and it worked fine from
there.
Not sure if that helps anyone, but if you have this issue maybe your
problem isn't Outlook itself but rather some other software that is
installed.
