Internet settings in XP

I was asked to set up the internet account for a friend of
mine and this was the first time for me to do anything in
Windows XP. While setting up the user name and password it
asked me to type in the password twice now I have a double
password which will not work. I have tried everything I can
think of to delete that password and enter the right one
even to the extent of deleting everything and starting
over, but when I finish that same double password comes
back again. Can someone tell me how to get this bad
password out of the system and get the right one in. I have
supposedly set up an administrators account and think I am
working in it. Thanks for any information.

Goto start. click control panel. click internet options.
Click to expand...
click connections tab. highlight connection. check never
dail a connection. click apply. click ok. click ok. see
if that will work for you.
