Interoperasbility of Outlook between Windows and Mac

Hi,

I have a client that has PC's where some run Windows and the other Mac's.
They have an Exchange server on the site but are complaining about the users
not being able to see shared calendars and not being able to invite other
users to meeting requests. The PC's run Office, (Windows and Mac), but I do
not know what versions.

I don't have that much experience on Mac's, so my question is it possible to
share calendars, accept meeting requests etc in a windows and mac
environment? Would this work if the Mac users had Outlook 2001? Is it true
that Outlook 8.2 for the Mac does not have this functionality?

If anyone could give me some pointers, it would be great. I'm sure that both
types of PC's should be able to share this type of information.
