i have just got a big spreadsheet put onto the intranet and discovered
big problem. click the link and you are prompted to save or open.
choose open and it opens the spreadsheet in IE. then try and exit an
it prompts to save, yes no or cancel. try to click any link from i
the spreadsheet and again its yes no or cancel, then close the lin
youve opened (sometimes a word doc) and yet again its yes no or cancel
not to mention clicking any of the links takes you away from th
spreadsheet, meaning you have to click the back button to go back t
the spreadsheet, meaning.....yet again, you are prompted about
million times whether you want to save the current doc, then whethe
you want to open or save the spreadsheet.
is there anything i can do to minimise all these goddamn prompts al
the time (besides changing IE settings because they wont allow that)??
im thinking all i can possibly do is maybe make the links somehow ope
by default in a NEW ie window, this would at least stop the sav
prompts when leaving the spreadhseet to open it and then clicking bac
to go back to it.
also mabe theres a way of formatting the html on the intranet links s
that users are not prompted to open or save it when they click the lin
to the spreadsheet? also be nice to not be prompted to save changes o
these files either because they cant save changes, its the intranet an
so obviously read only
