Invalid Instruction

Had to reformat Win98SE, installed Office 2000 Premium.
Trying to open existing .doc file creates an "illegal
operation" error. clicking [details] shows "WINWORD
executed an invalid instruction in module WINWORD.EXE at
xxxxxxxxxx"

Have uninstalled/reinstalled, renamed normal.dot, disabled
Norton NAV office plugin - please help!

Hi Pat,

Does this happen on a single file or all files? If all files can you
start Word without loading a file?
