invalid key code

I just got an IBM Thinkpad from my employer (I work at home), it has Office 2000 Professional on it, but it's missing Publisher. Since I have Publisher on Disc 2 of the 2 Disc Office Professional 2000 program that I purchased myself several years ago as an upgrade for my personal computer, I thought I'd just install Disc 2 on my work computer. Not happening. I wrote the key code on Disc 1, , but when I try and install Disc 12 and use the key code I wrote down, it's telling me the key code is invalid.

My company is being prickly about helping me, since I'd be using Publoisher for my own personal use...and they dont even want to know that I could possibly want to use my work computer for anything but work. (I gave away my old laptop so this is now the only computer I have, ergo, I'd prefer to solve this without asking them for assistance.

P.S. I've tried wading through Miscrosoft's website for support and by now I have a migrainer and my teeth hurt, its so complicated...and unhelpful.

Publisher is a standalone application, try installing it in its own folder. The setup
should ask you where to install.
