Invalid Page Fault in module WINWORD.EXE

Alan

Hi,

I have been running MS Office 97 Professional Edition
under WINDOWS 98 on a DELL Dimemsion desktop for several
years without any problem.

A couple of days ago I got this message when attempting to
open a WORD document

'This program has performed an illegal operation and will
be closed down.'
Details:'WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module
WINWORD.EXE at 0167:3007ffed.'etc.

The other OFFICE applications work as usual.

Rebooting did not solve the issue.

I called Dell tech support. We tried doing something
using msconfig.exe but it didn't work. I then
uninstalled and reinstalled the entire OFFICE suite from
the original CD. Still no good. WINWORD won't open at
all.

Anybody out there got any idea how to solve this?

Thanks,

Alan
