Invalid product key for Office SB 2007

B

Blackmore_simon

I have a new Sony Vaio that came with Office Home and Student. I uninstalled
it and installed Office small business 2007 Trial for which I bought a
product key (It came in a DVD box without any media).

I tried to use the pre-activation method but it did not accept my 25
character perpetual key. I have tried a few time to use the post activation
method but still no joy.
My trial version product key is 8166-304-7753024-64661.

I have checked that the perpetual product key is correct.

Any ideas how to convert the trial version to a perpetual one?
TIA
Simon

B's and 8's, O's and 0's look alike. Get some good lighting and look at that
number carefully. (I wish they would use a different font!)

My Product key has no zeros, no 'o's, two Bs and two 8s. I have tried all
sixteen combinations of 8 and B but it still does not like it. It
automaticaly changes to upper case font and inserts the hyphens in the right
places.

Could it be that Office HS did not uninstall properly? It does say Office SB
2007 when I try to enter the key.

BTW the OS is Vista Ultimate with all the latest patches

It's worth trying an uninstall again, just in case.

I uninstalled Office and the Activation assistant, rebooted and reinstalled.
It keeps asking for the product key but will not accept the one I have
bought. Again I have tried all possible combinations of 8 and B. What can I
try next?

Call Microsoft. Assuming you bought Office from them and not Sony.

(I know it says Office 2003 but the same thing applies to 2007.)

I have just seen that my key is for:
Microsoft Office 2007 Small Business w/Office 2007 Pro Trial (MLK)
Is this a different product?
If so where can I download the trial software?
I cannot seem to find it offered anywhere.

I can't answer that. Since your key is for SB with a Pro trial, I get the
impression that it came from Sony. If so, call them. You've paid for
something and can't use it. Microsoft can't help with OEM issues.
