Invalid product key message when I try to install Office 2003 OEM

Hi,
A client is trying to install office 2003 pro on a HP machine, but he gets
the "You have not entered a valid product key. Please check the number
located on the sticker on the back of the CD case or on your Certificate of
Authenticity" error message.
He doesn't have any trial version or any other version of office previously
installed on his computer.
Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance.

An OEM version should have come preinstalled on the computer by
the computer manufacturer, so there should be no need for you or
your client (which is it?) to install it.
