invisible cells over jpeg.

A couple of years ago I was in a training where they showed us how t
take a picture, the US, for example, and put an excel sheet over i
with the cell color changed to white and with comments made in som
cells. The idea was to place a comment in a selected cell tha
appeared above each state. As the students were studying the state
and capitals, they could verify the name of the state as they put th
mouse on the comment area. I remember how to change the cell lines t
clear and how to insert a comment but I forgot how to put the pictur
in the background. If I use the normal backbround it just repeat
over and over to cover the worksheet. Anyone know how to do this nea

arstart,

The only direct way to get an image in back of the sheet is with Sheet
Background, as you have used. It puts the image in the upper left corner
and tiles it (repeats it like tiles across and down). It appears to put it
actual size (pixel for pixel) on the screen, and it's not affected by the
Excel zoom setting, though the sheet is. You would need to adjust the size
of the picture file with a picture editor for the pixel size of the screen
(800 x 600, if that's the size you have your video running at, etc.). Then
you could adjust the sheet size with the zoom button.

For a video that will certainly make you smile,
http://www.smokeylake.com/snbrussels.mpg. It's about an expectant father
who gets on a plane, and the airline staff. About 3 meg.
