Invisible/phantom Entourage mail message won't delete, causes errors

I seem to have an email which is invisible, and cannot be deleted.
When I roll the mouse over it, an error occurs. If I move it up the
screen, messages below it are also invisible. I have tried to isolate
it by searching for it, and 'delete all' but the mongrel's too smart
for that.

Mac OS X 10.3.2 Entourage 10.1.4

Email please: (I'm an aid worker in PNG and don't get to a phone very
often)

I get these too on IMAP Accounts, but in my case, these ghosts are an exact
duplicate of an existing message. In listview sorted by date they appear
right on top of the message they are duplicating. Clicking on the Subject
with the preview pane enabled shows exactly the same content as the original
message.

The only difference to these ghosts is, that you can NOT DELETE them.
Apple-L doesn't help and Apple-Option-L neither. The only thing that helps
in my case is a complete FLUSH of my IMAP Cache.

This is a serious and nasty BUG and one of the main resons keeping me from
rolling out Office 2004 in our Organisation.

Hopefully this'll be fixed some time soon.

The problem is, that these GHOSTS do not appear very often and in a not
reproducable manner, otherwise i could sniff the network and recodr the IMAP
Session to get a picture of why Erage might mess up it's imap
cache/database.
