IP addresses changing

Has anyone had a problem with IP addresses changing for
computers on the network? What would cause this?

Not sure what this has to do with Access, but:

Most networks use a DHCP server to assign IP addresses dynamically, that is,
automatically as they're needed. As people log off and on, the addresses can
change. There's a timeout that can be set by the administrator, so a user's
address may not change every time, but it could.

The individual IP address shouldn't make any difference because the network
will keep track of where the user ID is each time you log on.

If you really need your IP address to be static (stay the same), you'll need
to discuss that with your network administrator.
