Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Before I upgraded to Entourage 2008, I was using 2004 with (10.4) on an older iMac. I have an iPhone and use it for email. Previously, my email would come to my iPhone and when I opened Entourage, the emails on my iPhone would disappear. I've upgraded to Snow Leopard and Entourage 2008. Now, my emails don't disappear after I've opened Entourage on my iPhone. I have to manually delete them. I checked the settings and they're all the same. Can anyone help me figure out how to make the emails disappear with my new set up.
Thanks in advance!

When setting up your Gmail account in Entourage 2008, you must have
entered your Gmail address and then let Entourage do the setup for you.
Correct?

Entourage 2008 defaults to connecting to Gmail accounts as IMAP instead
of POP. In Entourage 2004 you were using POP.

The difference between IMAP and POP is that IMAP will synchronize
messages and folders across multiple machines whereas the first POP
machine will download and delete messages from the server.

In Entourage go to Tools --> Accounts... and delete your Gmail account
(you won't lose any messages because they're still on the server).

Click the New button again and set up your Gmail account using the
Account Setup Assistant. In the "Verify and Complete Settings" window,
you want to change IMAP to POP.

Hope this helps!

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your help. I did what you said, and the only difference is if I read an email on my iPhone, it shows up already read in Entourage. When I hit refresh on my iPhone, it doesn't automatically clear the inbox as it did when I was running Tiger and using Entourage 2004. Any ideas how to clear inbox on iPhone other than manually deleting? Not the worst thing in the world if that feature isn't available anymore. Thanks again for your help.

By default, POP accounts in Entourage are set to leave messages on your
server for five days, I believe. You can edit this by going to Tools -->
Accounts..., double-clicking your account and adjusting the settings
under the Options tab.

Hope this helps!
