Is it possible to draw an arrow with text?

I think it is very common for arrows to have some descriptive text beside
them. For example, see this image on the internet
(http://www.interface-development.com/content/2006-12-17.1-3.jpg).

I looked for an option to add text to an arrow in Microsoft Word 2007, but I
couldn't. I could place a text box beside the arrow, but doing this for each
time is time consuming. Plus, if I move or resize the arrow, I need to do it
for the text box too. Is there any quick and easy way to add arrows with text?

Word was not intended to be a graphics application, so no, the only way to
add text to an arrow is to add a text box. You can group it with the arrow,
however, so that they move as a unit.

Thank you for the reply. Grouping could be a better option, and I think I can
copy and paste it as a unit many times in order to make other arrows with
text.

In addition to Suzanne’s suggestion: Once you have grouped the arrow and the
text box, you can create and AutoText: Select the group. Select Insert tab >
Quick Parts > Save Selection to Quick Part Gallery. Fill out the dialog box.

You can now insert the AutoText at any time by typing its name and pressing
F3.

Note that if you use one of the outlined arrows (below Insert > Shapes >
Block Arrows), you can right-click the arrow and select “Add textâ€.

Insert shape, block arrow, resize arrow to whtever size required, change
colour using format, then right click and select add text. You can then add
text
