Imran Admin

I wants to be notifed of any new project that is newly made and published on
project server 2007. i also wants to be notified of any project that is
edited. the reason behind is i am the one who schedules the resources on
these project and rest of the project managers only creates the project and
task and punch in time require to complete the task, then i assign the
resources and set the dates for the task to be worked on. i have Propject
2007 server setup with WSS 3.0 SP2,

Yours are excellent questions! Unfortunately, there is no default mechanism
that can notify a resource manager of either a new project being published
or any project being edited. The only way to address this would be through
custom software development. Because of this, you may want to repost your
questions in the microsoft.public.project.developer newsgroup and allow our
developer friends to guide you on how to develop the software code to get
the system to send the e-mail messages you seek. Hope this helps.

Hi Imran,

just an idea in case you don't have any developer resources:

If you are using templates in your organisation, you could add a task for
yourself in templates as last task and link it to your finish task. With
activating 'My project tasks are modified' in Personal Settings - Manage My
Alerts and Reminders, you will receive an e-mail alert whenever there are
changes on the schedule. Not using templates, you can perhaps convince your
PMs to add such a task for you?

A development solution as Dale suggested will be more reliable of course.
But that idea could perhaps support you on a short term?

Regards
Barbara
