Is it possible to make a duplicate-check in contacts?

Hello!

I am using Outlook 2003 on XP SP2. Everyone in this company uses his own
local contacts folder and we have a public one. I want to synchronize them,
but I need to check for duplicates first, so if you know how to do that in
outlook efficiently or if you have a small program that helps me out with
this please feel free to give me some assistance. Actually my second
question would be if there is a way to synchronize automatically between
contact folders (daily, for example). Thank you very much. I appreciate your
help.
