Is it possible to reference MS Access fields in PowerPoint

I'd like to configure ActiveX objects to read information
directly from an Access database. The help file says that
it is possible to reference Excel files and doesn't
reference any other file format? Can anyone tell me if
Access objects are addressable?

You can use various data retrieval methods to query data from an access
database. Search the Microsoft MSDN site (http://msdn.microsoft.com) for
code examples illustrating the same using Access, PowerPoint and VBA as
keywords.

resort to the commercial product if it's taking too long
