Is it possible to resize chart itself (not chart area)

CW

Hi

I have several charts on one sheet and a couple have resized automatically
after I had to make a change to the legend. I can't figure out how to
re-size the chart itself as every time I click on it a section is selected
e.g. axis, series, etc.

Can anyone help please?

EXCEL 2007

Take the following actions:-

1. Click in the Chart.

Chart Tools (highlighted in green) should appear in the right hand side of
the Title Bar.

2. Select Chart Tools / Layout tab.

3. Current Selection group / click the drop down arrow and select Chart Area.

4. Now go to one of the corners of the Chart (for example lower right hand
corner) until the mouse changes to a double headed white arrow then, with the
left mouse button depressed, drag the Chart Area down and to the right.

You should now have what you want.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

For my number 3 you might want Plot Area (I am not 100% sure from your
posting).

If you select Plot Area that (Plot Area) becomes highlighted so drag that in
/ out to your required size.

You have a Plot Area and a Chart Area and both can be sized independently.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I'm using Excel 2003 and I can't seem to find Chart Tools in
this version. Do you know if there is a solution in 2003?

Thanks

Click inside the plot area, the rectangular region defined by the axes.
The rectangle should be highlighted with resizing handles on the corners
and edges. Click and drag these edges to stretch the plot area within
the chart.
