is it possible to save xls file to a word document like an attachm

client is looking to save an excell file to a work doc as a button that would
need to be clicked on to open. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you insert the Excel file link in the word document and have it
display as an icon. The user could click on the icon to open the file.
