Is it possible to store a complete OS file in a field of table?

Hi friends,

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post, sorry for
the inconvenience.

Programatically I save outlook mails as .MSG files in hard disk, and
when I need the mail again, I restoe it to my outlook. In this case,
I have to maintain thousands of .MSG files as physical OS files in
hard disk. It is a hectic process.

My query is, "Is there any way to store an OS file (.MSG) into a field
in a Ms Access database table (instead of storing in a hard disk as a
file)?"

If you are not understand the query, please come back to me.

with best regards,
Kumar.

Have you tried an Outlook Personal Folder (PST) file that you can move items
to that you want to store? The folks in the Outlook newsgroup should be able
to help you with this.

Yes, I believe it is possible to use Access to store these files, but the
PST file is designed to do this and I believe you'll get better results.

Kumar: In Outlook, click File, ImportExport, Export to a
File, select Microsoft Access, then select the folder you
wish to export, enter the filename and path, and presto,
a fully formatted Access Table with all the fields. You
can do this with any of the folders you have created in
Outlook.
