Is it possible to "transfer" a copy of Office XP to another comput

As the subject says...

I am buying a new computer and I want to transfer my copy of Office to it.
Is this possible?

I tried to contact the support people, but when i typed in my PID, it said:
"The product ID number you entered is not supported in the country that you
have selected. Enter another product ID number or select a different support
option below." yet I selected NZ and it was registered in NZ... also NZ is
the only place that I could find Office XP Student & Teacher Edition.

Yes it was a retail version, but what do you mean "*for* the computer"?

If it is possible, how do you do it, the authorisation thing wont let me put
it on the other computer and it is stuck in limited feature mode, not that I
didnt see that coming...

If it was a retail version then you're okay.

What Paul was saying is the license is transferable if you purchased a
retail version for the computer rather than purchasing an OEM version
which comes preinstalled on the computer.

You know...I just realized what Paul was saying!

I had interpreted "...it was a retail version purchased separately
from the computer" as "a retail version purchased from the computer"
(such as from Amazon).

DUH! Sorry for confusing things - looks like it was just me who was
confused. <grin>
