Is it possible to upgrade to professional from teacher/student edi

I currently have a teacher-student edition of MS Office. Is it possible to
upgrade to a professional version or would I have to purchase the full
version of professional?

That path is sometimes called a "cross-grade", and no, you can't get special
pricing for that.
