Is it safe to remove the mail scanner??

Hi Experts,

I am facing problems with my mails in Outlook. It doesn't display messages in
Reading Pane- instead it just display part of the screen I was looking at
prior to Outlook. Someone told me to turn off the mail scanner.. It is safe
to do so??? Won't it pose other threats???

Yes, it is safe. The attachments will be scanned when you open them.

Actually, they will be scanned if you even just try to save them to the
disk.
