After furious head scratching, Tom asked:
| Tried Detect and Repair and may have made it a little more stable but
| Outlook still crashed on 3 occasions yesterday.

||
||| Hi, as a User of Outlook 2002 recently having installed Vista OS I
||| concur with Mille on the issue of having to repeat credentials each
||| time. However, I have a more serious issue whereby Outlook
||| continuously crashes (in an APPCrash) or hangs (AppHang), the error
||| message states Outlook cannot interface with Windows, and I cannot
||| restart Outlook without re-booting the entire system. Have you
||| heard of this ? Is it a compatibility issue with Vista ?
|||
||| Thanks, Tom.

|||| Outlook 2002 has an issue where you will need to provide your
|||| credentials each time you open Outlook as its protected storage
|||| provider key cannot exist with Windows Vista. This is the only
|||| issue I have heard of that would be a potential show stopper.
|||| Besides, Office XP is in extended support which means that only
|||| critical security items will be patched. Office 2003 and 2007 are
|||| fully supported on Windows Vista.
