To qualify as an "OEM" all you need to do (or have done) is add new
hardware to your computer. ie, CD-ROM, additional memory, hard drive,
USB device, etc.

If you read the "OEM" details, qualifying is only part of the deal.

No box, not a big deal. No manuals, not a big deal, especially considering
they're isn't much printed info in the box except of basic installation
instructions.

You become your own support. No Microsoft incidents. Etc. Might be a big
deal.

Here's some information about being a "System Builder" that DirectDeals
mentions. "By purchasing OEM software from DirectDeals.com you become a
"System Builder" and you are responsible for adherence to all requirements
in the EULA and all required upgrades both hardware and software."

If you look at the details, being a "System Builder" means just that. When
DirectDeals says that buying a mouse is all you need to do, they are pushing
the interpretation of the "System Builder" requirements to the very edge of
legality.
