Is Office 2007 compatible with windows XP professional?

I just got a refurbished laptop with XP professional as the operating system-
can i use OFfice 2007 with that or must I get an earlier version of OFfice?

In addition to what garfield said, you will probably need to make sure that
you have at least 1GB RAM to run office 2007 effectively...

Also you should be aware that since M$ really wants you to get Vista,
Voice Recogition is not a part of Office 2007, as it was in 2003, but
has been made part of Vista. So if you use VR you are forced to get
Vista or a third party program like Dragon Naturally Speaking.
