Do I need to purchase Powerpoint separately or is it part of Office XP small

You have to purchase it separately.

You cannot use the PPT 2002 Upgrade to add PPT to Office XP SBE. You must
use the full standalone version of PPT 2002 -- not the upgrade version.

However, you can use the PPT 2003 Upgrade to add PPT to Office XP SBE.
