Is reactivation required for a reformat of windows xp? Also does this take
away from the 3 total computers it can be used on? I have had bad computers
in the past and want to know if I should not put on the other computers and
save it for this one in case it crashes.
Thanks

Everytime you reinstall Windows XP or Office XP or Office 2003,
you'll be prompted to reactivate.

Yes i understand that part now but is it going to take away from 3 seperate
installs? Or is one computer good for no matter how many reformats are
required?

Your question is not clear.
Windows XP {retail} can be installed on a single computer as many times as
you want. You can un-install Windows XP {retail} from one computer and
install on a different computer as many times as you want. Windows XP {OEM}
is tied to the computer it was originally installed on. On that computer you
can install as many times as you want.

Office 2003 {OEM} is tied to the computer it was installed on. On that
computer you can install as many times as you like.

Office 2003 {retail} can be installed on a single computer as many times as
you want. You can un-install Office 2003 {retail} from one computer and
install on a different computer as many times as you want. How many and
what type of additional computers you can install Office 2003 {retail} is
specified in the EULA for the edition you purchased. Most editions allow
one desk top and one portable device. Office 2003 Students and Teachers
allows three computers of any type. But, you need to check the EULA for your
edition for the actual limits.

If the time period between two installs {I recall its 120 days} is too
short, you many need to use the telephone activation method.
