Is the MDAC deployed/updated with Office 2003

We have a database which seems to have been affected by the deployment of
Office 2003. I think it is a dos based product and we weren't expecting any
effect. Our Tech Support department think that there is a change in the
Microsoft Data Access Components file which I believe is normally deployed
with Windows. Could any shed a light on this please?

Hi Big Mac,

Office and other apps rely on MDAC components being matched versions (for example same version on a workstation and server) and
expect a certain minimum version level of MDAC. Without any additional data on what you're seeing perhaps this article will help
