Is the space at the end of a sentence an em space?

Does Word insert an em space at the end of a sentence or after a colon? or
does it use an ordinary or en space, as would be used between words?

When you press the spacebar, no matter where it is, you get an ordinary
space. You have to use a specific code to insert an en or em space. If the
document language is set to specific languages that require spaces around a
colon or guillemets, Word will automatically insert this space as a
nonbreaking space (this is an AutoFormat/AutoCorrect action); you just type
the colon or guillemet, and Word inserts the required space(s).
