I have been looking for technical documentation for this my self and all
leads points toward this (nonfunctional) page:

That page is linked in the top part of the page Augustus refer to and also
found in the resource kit for Office 2007 when looking at "Deploy the 2007
Office system to users who are not administrators".
I made a phonecall to microsoft support (here in sweden) last week and got
the answer that it is reported and I can't expect any support on this topic
yet since the technicians working with this is depending on the information
there. Some moment 22.
What I know and has tested is that I can't in a simple way push the
installation to computers without involving my users to do settings on their
own. Sure enough I can get many settings pushed by either the XML-file and/or
policys but I still get the setup splash screen every time i log on after a
boot and can't push certain settings.
