Is there a compatability issue between Office 2000 and Windows XP

Since upgrading the system to Windows XP I keep getting an error message when
performing tasks such a editing a header. Could this be a compatibility
issue with XP since Office 2000 worked fine with 98.

Of the thousands of possible error messages in Word, which one
might you be talking about?

Sorry for not providing the exact type of error message. I cannot recall
exactly what the error message says. I suppose I was thinking that ANY error
message that I get routinely could be signs of a compatibility issue. I will
wait for the next message and then post what it states.

There are no compatibility issues between winxp and Office2k
You mention upgrade, if you upgraded the o/s, as apposed to clean install,
this is more likely the cause of any probs.

No, it was a clean install. By upgrade I meant going from one version to
another. Thanks for the thought though.

I bought a Toshiba laptop with WindowsXP, making the fateful step from
Win98SE to the new OS. I installed my legal copy of MS Office 2000, with no
error message during the process. Unfortunately, whenever I launch the
program the window of Word 2000 appears and there I remain stuck! I am told
that there is a compatibility issue between WinXP and Office 2000. Surfing
the Web I found a message dating back to the year 2003 from a fellow luckier
than me, who mentions a Microsoft patch for it, but with no further
specifications. Could anybody tell me the patch name and where I can find
it? I should most grateful.
