IS THERE A DIFFERANCE BETWEEN.... html and htm?

Making first web page using FrontPage 2002. The pages I have made so far all
end in htm. I downloaded some flashbuttons which all end in html. I tried to
rename my pages so the link would read html but it will not accept it .....is
there a differance?
Thanks

Only on some servers the .html is required for the home page (or each folder default file)
- but you flash/script may require it

You can lead a fish to a bicycle,

There is no functional difference. The L is missing due to
the early days of the 8.3 convention for file names in DOS,
and html would have been inalid back then

Right, and as Stefan pointed out, the Flash button code you're using may not
work if you change the file names, so it's probably best to just leave them.
Both .htm and .html should work fine on any web server.
