Is there a max number of assignees you can add to a task

I have 86 assignees assigned to a task. I am try to add more assignees via
PWA task but the users do not appear.

Dale:

There's a 256 character limit in the display field. You can add additional
resources, but they're not necessarily going to display in the resource name
column. You should be able to see them in an assignment view such as
resource usage or task usage. With that said, it's not a best practice, per
se, to have so many resources assigned to one task. Might I inquire as to
what you're trying to accomplish?
