Bob Buckland ?:-) said:Hi Paul,
All of the Office 2007 apps can save in the legacy formats
1. Use File[Office Button]==>Save As to choose a file type
2. Set the default save type to the legacy format in
File[Offide button]==>[app name]Options=>Save
For Office 2000 through Office 2003 Microsoft has
a two step update
1. Office 2007 Format Awareness update will
be available as part of normal Office updates
that senses when you try to open one of the new file
formats and offers to download and install the appropriate
converters.
2. Office 2007 Compatability Pack (the converters).
The converter packs can both open and save the 2007
file formats (Office OpenXML) for Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
While the Office Format Awareness update and the Converter pack are also still in beta stage they are available for download now
from
http://microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/converter.mspx
for installation with Office XP and Office 2003 products and Microsoft would appreciate feedback on any issues with backwards
compatibility using them.
