Is there a way to have contact names show up as last name first a.

I would prefer to have contacts show up last name first and first name last
when addressing email in Outlook. Is there a way to do this. My contacts
list shows this way, but I can't get them to show up that way when address
new email?

You provided no information. Show up where and in what version of Outlook?

Outlook 2002. When addressing an email message and clicking on To: the
address list show in first name last name sequence. I would prefer it
showing in last name, first name sequence.

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

This didn't change anything. My contacts list already is last name first,
first name last. What I wan to be able to do is have the names show up this
way when I go to new and then to in outlook the name list that is presented
is always in first name, last name order.

That's exactly what I told you how to do.
Did you forget to restart the Address Book Service?

Evidently not. I don't know what you are talking about restarting the
Address Book Service. When I hit the "To" button my contact list shows up
first name first and last name last. There doesn't seem to be any difference.

Did you restart Outlook? After you do, check the properties for the Outlook
Address Book to see if the sort order change "took."
