Is there a way to lock edit properties on a project by project own

Hi-

I would like all PMs to be able to see all projects (which I can easily set
up using Categories), but I would like to only allow the PM who OWNS the
project to be able to edit their own projects. Is this possible?

If so, is it also possible to lock down individual TASKS within a project?
For example, I might have one PM who owns the top portion of a project and a
second PM who owns the bottom portion of a project. Is there a way to lock
down who can edit each individual line? I know subprojects are also an
option, but just checking on the line security options. Thanks!

Yes to first part. Do this:

1. Navigate to the Project Manager Group permissions and click Modify
2 In the Categories section of the Project Manager Group page select
the My Organization category on the right
3. In the Permissions grid of the Categories section set the Open
Project permission to Allow (Allow is checked)
4. In the Save Project permission, set the condition to Not Allowed
(Allow and Deny are unchecked)

Save the changes and you should be good to go. They will be able to
see the other projects and they can open them in Project Pro and in
PWA, but can't save any changes.

The answer to the second part of the question is no. There is not way
to configure Project Server 2003 to do this. It can be done using
custom development. If this is a concern, your best bet would be to
use a Master Project. I like using hammock tasks for Master Projects
but other methods will work too.

Hope this helps

You can't lock down individual tasks within a plan but each task can be
assign a different status manager to tasks so different PMs get to approve
different phases of the project.
