Is there a way to make Excel 2000 dial phone numbers?

TimeKeeper,

Sub CellToDialer()
'Here's some VBA code from John Walkenbach "Excel 2000 Power Programming
With VBA" book.
'It uses SendKeys to click the Dial button:

' Transfers active cell contents to Dialer
' And then dials the phone
' Get the phone number
CellContents = ActiveCell.Value
If CellContents = "" Then
MsgBox "Select a cell that contains a phone number."
Exit Sub
End If
' Activate (or start) Dialer
Appname = "Dialer"
AppFile = "Dialer.exe"
On Error Resume Next
AppActivate (Appname)
If Err <> 0 Then
Err = 0
TaskID = Shell(AppFile, 1)
If Err <> 0 Then MsgBox "Can't start " & AppFile
End If
' Transfer cell contents to Dialer
Application.SendKeys "%n" & CellContents, True
' Click Dial button
Application.SendKeys "%d"
End Sub

Thank you, this is helpful. One last question... Where is Dialer.exe? I
searched my hard disks, but can't find it. Do I need to purchase it or is it
freeware someplace? Sorry, that's two questions.

TimeKeeper,

What's the Dialer program?
Dialer.exe is a program that ships as part of Windows. It allows a user to
dial an outgoing voice call via his computer, if the modem supports both
voice and data. The user enters a number to dial, or selects a number from
the speed-dialer list, and then picks up on a handset when the call is
answered.

I am on a computer running windows 98 at this time, it is in C:\windows,
have not used it in XP so I don't know if it is in it or not, you could most
likely do a search on Google for it and find a copy, if not I can send you a
copy from this computer. It's a small file only abut 68kb

Yes, that would be great if you would send me a copy of dialer.exe and any
type of dialer.doc file you might also have available. I am running XP and
dialer.exe did not come with it.

Thank you very much!

I would need your e-mail address to do that.
